In addition to having to recycle the garbage we each had to collect a bag of garbage and dispose of it properly.

We had a competiton, who could find garbage and make it into something else. The boys named him Michael Jackson. I have no idea why...

Pictures say a thousand words.  Please scroll down the blog as I added a lot of photos today.  This is the end of my third week here in Guatemala.  Two more weeks and lots more Spanish to learn.  People in the town are starting to get to know me and now call me by name.  Everyone knows everyone in this city!

Guatemala Week 2

Hola!  As week 2 ends, Jerry says Adios to Guatemala and hello frozen tundra...very sad to go.  While the second week was going to school to improve our Spanish skills, it was also interacting with our new family and classmates from around the world.  Guatemala is an amazing place!  Very beautiful, tranquil and the people are some of the friendliest I have ever met.  Angela will continue to post pictures from the Project for the Children of San Pedro next week.

Thank you to all the family and friends who donated school supplies to San Pedro Ninos del Lago Proyecto.  We received over 42lbs of school supplies and over $200 dollars to donate to the school.  THANK YOU!
Welcome to the Bougher Blog. Please follow along as we travel through Guatemala. Our trip will start in Antigua and then to Flores in the north near the great Mayan ruins of Tikal.  From there we will head to San Pedro de la Laguna on the lake Lago Atitlan.  We will study Spanish and work at a school for Guatemalan children.  You can check out the school at the website posted on this blog Ninos del Lago Proyecto.
